TONY JANDA (PENTOCA RECORDS)
This month’s Bumpshop welcomes back our colleague from Chicago by way of New Mexico, Tony Janda. In addition to being the founder of the Pentoca Records, Tony is himself an accomplished producer - one of the creative forces behind Pentoca’s acclaimed inaugural release, the atmospheric, Memphix/Shadow-styled instrumentals “Naples Deli” b/w “88 To Rochelle” by Marrow of the Mind. He is also, of course, one of the finest if most under-the-radar vintage soul selectors on the planet, with residencies at famed Chi-City watering hole Danny’s Tavern, and a tour as host of the “R&B Flashback” radio show on Northwestern University’s WNUR to his credit. For Tony’s much anticipated return to NYC expect many jewels from his extensive collection of super dynamite soul. And for a taste hit up his “Results Not Typical” mix
